So it has the things you need for necessity, but it also has that element of discovery every time you go it. It's kind of one of those funny things about you say when you go shopping: You never know what it is that you needed until you actually went there. But it carries both. It has a necessity and it has a discovery which ultimately makes for a unique shopping experience . [0:00:25] Speaker 2: The Community Store is worth it. You really need to just go in and look around. You may not have an idea of what you want, but you'll find it by the time you leave . [0:00:35] Speaker 3: When you first walk in, there's a nice book section and local crafts and candle soaps, maple syrup, all that stuff. And then there's a housewares section, which is wonderful. Towels, sheets, blankets, a great craft section. I know that knitting and thread is one of the biggest-selling items in the store. Shoes. Menswear. Children's wear. Underwear. Everything you can need . [0:00:57] Speaker 4: We're a family that loves to walk. We're a family that would rather walk down the street than drive to a place, and my daughters, they're window shoppers when they don't even realize it. They're looking not only at the stuff that's in the window, but they're looking beyond the window to see what's inside , and it's exciting for them because they're exploring it. Their livelihood is connected to our livelihood, and it makes all of our lives better to have that physical connection, and Community Store is exactly that story. It's connection of families . [0:01:31] Speaker 5: The Community Store needs to be around for a long time. I want to see it around, but it really needs the local support and the tourists, but locally , we depend on locals . [0:01:41] Speaker 7: Saranac Lake is unique in so many ways because we want a carousel, we get a carousel. We need a retail space downtown that's owned by the community and is a revolutionary way of looking at shopping and the country, we can get her done . [0:01:56] Speaker 4: You can connect with Saranac Lake and connect with the Adirondacks because it's a place that's owned and supported by the community itself . [0:02:04] Speaker 7: When someone shops at the community store, it just means it's sustaining the business. It will stay, and that's what we need . [0:02:12] Speaker 8: There's a lot about Saranac Lake where there's that feeling that we can make it happen. If we work together, we can really make it happen . [0:02:21]
